In order to feed the need for content, many popular streaming services are regularly adding appealing visual goodies or building on what’s already proven to be popular. So, without further ado, here’s our recommendations for can’t miss movies and shows coming to streaming one form or another in 2022.
After a lengthy delay, “Atlanta” is coming back for a third season. This time, the focus will on Earn, Paper Boi, Darius, and Van as they tour Europe. The first two seasons can be viewed now on Hulu’s premium site.
Peacock, NBC’s streaming platform, is where you can see this fresh, engaging take on the ’90s Will Smith sitcom “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” The reboot takes a darker turn and goes in a different direction, but the basic concept remains.
While dramas and procedurals tend to have a very long life, this usually isn’t the case with sitcoms. One of these rare exceptions is “Black-ish,” which will wrap things up after eight seasons this year on ABC. The first seven seasons of this highly acclaimed and much-loved show can be streamed on Hulu.
Based on the popular novels by Julia Quinn, this period drama is set during London’s early 1800s Regency era. Narration is provided by Julie Andrews. Watch the first season now on Netflix if you missed anything as you wait for the second season to debut on March 25th.
This HBO series teen drama follows a group of high school students as they figure things out and deal with the realities of life. Two one-hour specials have already aired following the first season, but 2022 brings us the entire second season. Season 1 can be streamed now on HBO Max.
Despite what the title suggests, this is actually a very charming comedy series on CBS. In short, it’s about a woman who can suddenly see the spirits of her home’s former inhabitants after having a near-death experience. Full episodes from the first season can be streamed on CBS’ website.
‘The Gilded Age’
Cynthia Nixon and Christine Baranski lead an exceptional cast in this period drama. Set in 1880s New York City, the series kicks off in late January. It will be available later for streaming on HBO Max after its initial airing on HBO.
The iconic Xbox game is finally coming to life as a series in 2022. An official release date hasn’t been announced yet, but it will be available for streaming on Paramount+ when it debuts.
‘House of the Dragon’
The anxiously awaited “Game of Thrones” prequel is coming to HBO in 2022. Set 200 years before the GoT timeline, “Dragon” chronicles the events that triggered the end of House Targaryen. After the 10 episodes air on HBO it will likely be streamed on HBO Max.
‘How I Met Your Father’
This is the “How I Met Your Mother” spinoff fans have been waiting for. It’s already streaming on Hulu. Hilary Duff stars in the comedy that follows her character’s quest to find the right soulmate. The original HIMYM episodes – featuring narration by the late Bob Saget – can also be streamed now on Hulu.
Based on the comic book created by Neil Gaiman and published by DC Comics, “The Sandman” spins tales based on the seven Endless. Netflix is bringing this popular comic series to life in 2022. A teaser trailer can be viewed now on YouTube.
The fourth season of the Netflix ’80s-set hit will drop sometime in the summer of 2022. The action takes place during the new season sometime around spring break in 1986. If you need to catch up on anything you missed, the first three seasons are available for streaming now on Netflix.
‘Superman & Lois’
