Learn How To Best Enjoy The Seaside When Traveling

When traveling, many people want to experience the seaside. The sound of waves crashing against the shore, the salty smell in the air, and the sand between your toes can be a refreshing change of pace from city life. However, not everyone knows how to make the most of their time by the sea. We’ll give you some tips on how to best enjoy your time at the seaside. Whether you’re looking to relax or explore, we have advice for you! Keep reading to learn more.

Invest in Transportation

If you’re planning on spending a significant amount of time at the seaside, it’s worth investing in some transportation. You don’t want to have to walk everywhere, especially if the beach is large. Renting a bike or scooter can be a great way to get around and explore. If you’re staying in one place, consider renting a car so you can easily get to and from the beach.

However, if you want to enjoy the sea, many people opt for Cross Chartering with a yacht to get the full experience. This is your best option if you don’t just want to see the seaside but the sea as well. Additionally, if you want your vacation to go as easy and as relaxing as possible, consider arriving at the seaside by plane rather than driving by yourself.

Pack Light and Right

One of the worst things you can do when headed to the seaside is to overpack. You only need a few essentials: sunscreen, swimwear, a towel, and maybe a cover-up or rash guard. Anything beyond that is just extra weight that you’ll have to carry around with you all day. In addition to packing light, be sure to pack items that are right for the beach.

Leave your valuables at home or in the hotel safe; there’s no need to bring anything that could potentially get lost or stolen. Likewise, leave any sharp objects at home – you don’t want to accidentally injure yourself or someone else. A beach bag is essential for any seaside excursion. It’s the perfect way to carry all of your essentials – sunscreen, swimwear, towel, etc. – in one place. Plus, it frees up your hands so you can enjoy the sand and surf.

Beach Etiquette

When enjoying the seaside, it’s important to be aware of and respectful of beach etiquette. This means not littering, being loud, or otherwise disrupting the peace. Many people come to the beach to relax, so it’s important to be considerate of others. Additionally, be mindful of your belongings – don’t leave them unattended for long periods.

Finally, be cautious when swimming – rip currents can be dangerous, so always swim with a buddy and never swim alone. You need to understand that certain risks come with swimming in the open water, especially if you don’t live at the seaside and don’t know firsthand.

Always Use Sunscreen

This should go without saying, but always use sunscreen! No matter what your skin type is, you can get sunburned if you’re not careful. Be sure to reapply sunscreen often, especially if you’re swimming or sweating. Wear a hat and sunglasses for extra protection.

And, if possible, try to stay in the shade as much as possible. SPF should be at least 30, but higher is better. Don’t forget to put sunscreen on your lips, too – you can get burned there, too. Additionally, it isn’t rare to get scalp burns, so if your hair is parted, put sunscreen on your scalp as well.

Invest in Transportation

Bring Cash

This may seem like an old-fashioned tip, but it’s still relevant today. Many seaside establishments – especially small businesses – only accept cash. So, be sure to bring enough cash with you for the day. It’s always a good idea to have some extra cash on hand, just in case. You don’t want to be stranded without any way to buy food or drinks.

Additionally, make sure to have cash in the local currency if you’re traveling abroad. For example, if you’re in the Bahamas, be sure to bring Bahamian dollars. Many of these small businesses don’t accept anything other than cash because they don’t have the means to process credit or debit cards.

Most importantly, have fun! The seaside is a great place to relax and enjoy yourself. So, make the most of it. Go for a swim, build a sandcastle, read a book – do whatever makes you happy. And, if you’re traveling with others, be sure to spend some time together. Seaside vacations are a great opportunity to bond with loved ones. Now that you know how to best enjoy the seaside when traveling, what are you waiting for? Start planning your trip today!
